Loyola bioinformatics/biology major Athena Mascarenhas (class of 2014) wins ITF 50 for the Future award

Congratulations to Athena Mascarenhas, winner of the 2013 Illinois Technology Foundation’s 50 for the Future Award.  Nominated by Dr. Laten (Biology), Athena is a senior bioinformatics/biology double major who has been conducting research in Dr. Laten’s lab since her junior year.  Each year the foundation recognizes and honors 50 exceptional Illinois undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in and potential to use technology in innovative ways.  Athena continues the tradition of Loyola bioinformatics majors who have won this award.
